Charles Worthington Salon at Home Intense Rescue Melting Balm
This is not a new product for me, in fact it's been out for a while now but as you can see from the photo below, it's nearly empty so I thought I'd share my love for it with you all. This is the first and only product from Charles Worthington's Salon at Home range that I've tried so far, based on the recommendation of Fleur (www.fleurdeforce.blogspot.com) and I love it!
To be completely honest thought it's not for the effect it has on my hair as to why I love it, although it does leave it incredibly soft, but for the way it makes me feel when using it and the smell, oh god the smell! Quite frankly this is one of the best smelling beauty products I have ever had the pleasure of setting my nose to. I am not very good at describing smells but to me I think it smells like an amazing combination of exotic Moroccan spices and oils yet it doesn't smell 'spicy', it's more floral and decadent than that (I told you I wasn't good at this), it's just pure bliss. Due to it's incredible smell it just feels so special to use because the scent and luxurious feel to the balm instantly makes you feel like you're really pampering yourself and I just feel so relaxed when using it.
There are a few ways you can use this product, such as leaving it on overnight as a treatment or using it as a hair mask after shampooing but I use the other suggested method. About 20 minutes before I'm going to wash my hair I get a large pea size amount out of the pot, rub it between my hands to emulsify it and then work it through my hair, mainly concentrating on the ends. I then run a bath, light some candles (optional but a must for me!) and lie back for 15-20 minutes or so inhaling the beautiful aromas and imagining I'm in an exotic spa abroad rather than in a bath in the South of England. I then just continue to wash my hair as normal and am left with softer, shinier hair which feels much healthier although my hair is very damaged so I probably don't get the full effect but the fact that I notice the difference on my dry, broken hair probably indicates that it could really transform a healthy head of hair.
I use this about once a week and despite the size of the tub, it does seem to last quite a while because a little bit of this does go a long way. It is quite pricey for a Charles Worthington product (£16.99) but the Salon at Home range is supposed to be much better quality and more luxurious and you are basically getting a salon quality treatment that you can use again and again so I think it is worth the money.
