Simple Gold and Purple eye look

I had the family coming over for a bbq the other day and was a bit pushed for time so just wanted to do a quick and simple makeup look but because the weather was so nice (I know, big shocker for England!) I fancied adding a bit of colour.
I thought I'd go for a something simple on the lid with a pop of colour on the lower lash line and went for purple as I knew it would compliment my green eyes. If you're someone who likes their neutrals and scares away from using brighter colours in your makeup then this is a great way to wear colour on yours eyes without being too bold and a great way to experiment with all those brighter colours in your makeup collection that look so gorgeous but are still sat there waiting to be used. As I had a few minutes spare before people came over I thought I'd take a few photos so I could share it with you and talk you through how I did it.

I started off by putting 'Patina' by MAC all over the lid and then through the outer corner of my crease I added 'Shale' by MAC to give me some subtle definition so it gave my eye some shape but didn't become the main focus of the look. I then took the purple shade from the Sleek 'Acid' eyeshadow palette (bottom left in the palette) and ran that along my lower lash line to give a fairly subtle but pretty pop of colour and very slightly on my upper lash line. For eyeliner I ran some Avon Supershock gel eyeliner pencil in black along my upper water line and I used Urban Decay 'Asphyxis' eye pencil, a gorgeous light lilac colour, along my lower waterline. I finished up with a few coatings of Maybelline 'Mega Plush' volume mascara in black to my top and bottom lashes and added a few individual lashes (medium length by Ardell) to the outer corners of my top lashes for a bit more length and volume. I hope you like it!
