BEAUTY: Shades Of Summer

When it comes to nail varnish, my go to shades generally switch between nudes and dark reds, I sometimes throw on a few other colours and the odd glitter top coat but they are the shades I stay pretty loyal to. When summer rolls around however, I do like to change it up a bit and add in a few
brighter shades to get that summer feeling, any extra brightness does help in a British summer.
Here are a selection of my most used summer nail shades, so starting with the two pinks in the top row we have Max Factor Glossfinity in 'Disco Pink', a bright pink in a great long lasting formula and Ciate 'Kiss Chase', a lighter but almost neon pink.
Next up in the second row there's Models Own 'Banana Split' and Essie 'Go Ginza', the first being a pastel yellow with the added 'bonus' of being scratch and sniff...no I don't see the point either. Now this Essie polish is one that I actually use all year round as I'm just n love with it, great formula as with all Essie polishes and a gorgeous light lilac/lavender colour. The next one in the row is one of Rimmel's Lasting Finish nail polishes in 'Orange Your Life', a rather bright acid orange which is a little garish but looks great with a tan, followed by Barry M 'Mint Green', just a great go to mint which looks good on most peoples skin tone.
In the last row we start with another bright orange, this time 'Hopscotch' by Ciate which is very bright but more of a richer, solid orange than the Rimmel one. Then there's Essie 'Cute As A Button' my favourite of the whole bunch and one that I just can't get enough of right now with it's beautiful pinky, coral tone and again in that brilliantly smooth Essie formulation. The last two, Barry M 'Pure Turquoise' and Nails Inc 'In Style Candy' are two that I do very much like but perhaps reach for less frequently than the others. I love a pop of it sometimes but I just don't seem to go for light blues as much as I do dark and the Nails Inc one is very similar (if not slightly darker) to Essie's 'Go Ginza', who's formulation I prefer.
I have a rather unhealthy amount of nail varnishes in my collection with numerous more brights on offer but chances are if I don't have a nude or red shade on my nails this summer then it is most likely to be one of these.
