BEAUTY: Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess, Summer In A Bottle
I've been in a bit of a perfume rut lately as I haven't brought a new perfume in quite some time and I'm just a bit bored of rotating my small collection. I don't tend to have any lighter, summery type scents and normally switch between the original Stella McCartney perfume and Dolce & Gabbana: Rose The One which are both beautiful but I've been wearing them for so long and they just don't
have that lighter, summery scent that I'm craving. I've been too unwell to get out recently so I decided to take the risk and buy one online which doesn't always work out but this time I definitely lucked out.
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess is a limited edition perfume that comes out each summer and is described by Estee Lauder as 'A sensuous, sun-drenched blend of Bergamot, warm Amber, Tiare Flower and Vanilla combined with delicious creamy Coconut'. As soon as I saw the words 'warm amber' and 'coconut' I was sold as I always like perfumes with amber notes and I am slightly (okay, ridiculously) obsessed with coconut in every way possible.
As soon as I first spritzed the perfume, I was instantly transported to a tropical sandy beach with blue skies, azure waves rolling in and coconut trees a plenty, in fact I was sitting in my lounge in a rather grey Worthing but thats how powerful this scent is. If you don't like coconut or vanilla then you will probably hate this as that's what really comes through with the amber, perhaps a little unfortunately, taking a back seat. There's no denying that if you like tropical scents then this is pretty much perfection but I found the coconut and vanilla a little bit overpowering when I used more that 1-2 sprays so I actually layered a bit of the original Stella McCartney perfume on top and oh my...perfect. You still get the lovely tropical smell but toned down and the amber from Stella just gives it a warmer, richness without compromising the sense of summer you get from Bronze Goddess on it's own. The staying power, I must add, is very impressive with it still lingering on my skin at least a good five hours after application.
This is definitely going to be my summer staple scent and if you fancy transporting yourself to a tropical paradise then you can pick yours up here priced £47.00 for 100ml (sandy beach, blue skies and crystal clear seas unfortunately not included).
