I can happily say that this pillowcase certainly delivers on both of these promises and I honestly can't imagine myself ever going back to a cotton one now, it's that good.
How can a pillowcase deliver all this you ask? Well in terms of comfort, it's made out of 100% pure silk which is hypoallergenic and therefore naturally regulates your temperature throughout the night ensuring that you get a better nights sleep, and of course it just feels incredible to sleep on. Now in terms of beauty, silk has very low absorbency properties which means that any skincare you put on before bed will just get absorbed into your skin, unlike with cotton or polyester which sucks in a lot of your beauty products for itself...greedy! I can see a big difference in this respect because when I now wake up in the morning my skin feels more hydrated and plumped, I can't be sure but I do feel like it's because all my skin care has really been absorbed into my skin rather than the pillow.
I'm also very impressed with the effect it's had on my hair. Instead of looking in the mirror first thing in the morning and seeing a frizzy birds nest on top of my head, I now wake up with quite sleek and shiny hair which is a big thing for me as my hair is never shiny. All this is apparently due to silk containing the same naturally occurring protein as hair, who knew!
The only downside for me is that it only comes in 'Ivory' or 'Sand', so it doesn't match my other white bed, as the ivory is much more of a cream colour, but it hardly matters when everything else about it is so good.
The Gingerlily Beauty Box Silk Pillowcase is £39.00 and available here.
