BEAUTY: First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads
I used to use normal manual exfoliators all the time until I discovered that they aren't actually too good for your skin and can actually do more harm than good, especially on sensitive acne prone skin like mine, so now I am loyal to chemical exfoliation.
I use Alpha H's Liquid Gold every couple of nights which works well but following the advice of skin care goddess Caroline Hirons, I wanted to find a product that I could exfoliate every day with. I started using Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner but I found it too harsh for every day use so after a bit of research (and of course a recommendation from Caroline Hirons) I picked up these beauties which are perfect.
They contain lactic and glycolic acids to exfoliate but are used in such quantity that they are ideal for daily use for even the most sensitive skin, although strangely enough they tingle a lot more than the harsher acidic toners that I've used. They also contain cucumber, gooseberry, lemon peel and liquorice which all aim to brighten and tone the skin and they also do not contain any parabens, harsh chemicals or colourants. They definitely seems to be doing the trick because ever since I started using them (about four weeks now) my skin has been so much clearer and my foundation applies better without clinging to my dry patches as much as it used to. The fact that these are pre-soaked pads make using them completely fuss free and quick but it is less cost effective with a pack of sixty costing £20.50. I like to use one in the morning and one in the evening but because my stash was disappearing alarmingly quickly I've reduced my usage to just one in the morning which still seems to do the trick.
You can pick them up for £20.50 here.
